Wedding Weekend!

This past weekend we made our way to Nashville for Katie and Duffey's wedding.  The day before the wedding we stopped off at The Aquarium Restaurant.  The food was good and the kids loved the HUGE aquarium in the middle of the restaurant.  It was very cool!
We probably walked around it about 10 times, at least.
The wedding was at Front Porch Farms about 30 minutes outside of Nashville and about 4 miles from Katie and Duffey house.  It was a beautiful setting up on a hill in the TN countryside.
Here's the girls:  Kim (Katie's friend), me, Katie and Natalie (Duffey's sister).

We had a great time and the wedding was beautiful.
The next day we made our way into Dickson and found this silly statue in the park.  Andrew seems to fit right in with the other characters.  I love the expression on his face here!  haha
Here's the 3 silly kids.  Maelee was home with Grandma and she's still wayyyy too normal to hang around with these monkeys.  Don't worry - we'll get her good and weird so she'll fit in with these three soon enough!

Spraygrounds

Since we don't have a yard or a hose for that matter, we have to get creative and find places to cool off in this hot Kentucky summer weather.  A lot of the parks have what they call "Spraygrounds".  Here's Andrew and Annabelle enjoying the sprayground at Iroquois Park.

And here's Mr. Andrew at the sprayground at Creekside Park.  Creekside is very close to our new house so we will frequent this park a lot this summer.  However our homeowners association has two wadding pools and a sprayground, so we'll have some options.
No pictures of Annabelle at this one.  She is not fond of water yet.  No sprinklers, pools or bathtubs even.  She's getting better, but not there yet.

Last Soccer Game

Andrew had his last soccer game of the season on May 12th.  As I've stated in previous posts, this is not the worst thing in the world since he didn't have a big interest in it.  Miss Annabelle kept the games interesting.

She makes an excellent "Water Girl".  Of course she drinks a lot of the water herself.
This pictures captures typical Andrew when he's playing soccer.  Notice the direction of the ball and then where Andrew is in the picture.
Guess we'll try out a different sport in the fall.  Maybe something a little more independent like swimming or gymnastics.

Cherokee Park

We took Daddy down to Cherokee Park a few weekends ago.  It's a great big park in the middle of Louisville.  Lots of hiking trails and playgrounds.  Again, another hot day.
Here's Daddy and Andrew exploring a little creek.

Boys and sticks.... what are you going to do?

Pegasus Parade

(See anything special hiding in this photo...  they're everywhere! haha!)

We made our way to downtown Louisville to see the annual Pegasus Parade which is the big event prior to the Derby.  They parade was good, lots of balloons and bands, but boy was it hot that day.  We ended up sneaking out early to get some shade and dinner.  The kids had a great time.  We met an older couple who were visiting from Virginia.  The Derby was on their "bucket list".  We pointed them in the direction of some good restaurants for dinner and then headed to The Old Spaghetti Factory for our dinner.  That's one of our favorite restaurants.  We went to the one in Minneapolis a lot.  Our table was on the streetcar in the middle of the restaurant.  In typical Annabelle and Daddy fashion, Dave left the restaurant wearing his beverage.  Not sure how she does it, but she manages to spill Dave's drink on him quite frequently.
There was so much to see downtown.  People watching, planes overhead and even a parade!
Look - Chica made an appearance.  (For those who don't know Chica - turn on the Sprout Channel).
Lots of planes overhead.  Every few minutes and boy were they loud.
There's the famous Pegasus!  Annabelle loves horses lately so she was all "Oooos" and "Ahhhhs" while this one passed us.
