Birthday Party - Home

Once back in Kentucky we had yet another birthday party for Mr. Andrew!  This time we had a bunch of our friends and neighbors over for cake, ice cream and bouncing!
Don't you love this picture:  Adult supervising with a beer and kids (who can't read) reading the directions/safety provisions.  There's bound to be at least one injury with this combination. (And there was!  Fortunately it was just a cut lip on our child).
We surprised Andrew with the bounce house.  The guy pulled up to set it up and while Andrew was eating breakfast he looked outside and very calmly said "Mom, did you know someone is outside setting up a bounce house in our yard?"  I said, "Really, that must be a mistake.  I'll go tell him he has the wrong house."  Andrew's response "Its ok.  You know I really wanted a bounce house for my birthday."

Pumpkin Patch

Children's Museum - Indy

On our way up to Green Bay we made an extra long pit stop at the Indianapolis Children's Museum.  They had a special Hot Wheels exhibit we wanted to check out as a surprise for Andrew's Birthday.  Andrew saw the green car above and wanted us to "take a picture for Uncle Barry".  He remembers that Uncle Barry also has a green car.

I'm not sure what was more entertaining.  Watching the kids do "the dig" or watching them wear the goggles.

We had someone take our photo out front with Bumble Bee.  Perhaps Christmas Card worthy?

Birthday Party - Green Bay

We headed up to Green Bay for Andrew's 5th birthday.  This is what I like to call Andrew's "Lego Face".  The boy is in a different world when it comes to Legos.  Completely obsessed.  Oh well - I guess it's better than being obsessed with TV or video games.  He can build most of them without help.  It entertains him for hours.  Of course he still wants to "play legos" all the time, but he doesn't like us touch them when we do.  We basically sit there, say nothing and touch nothing.  Loads of fun!
Man - this picture sums up Annabelle perfectly!
Um... yeah.... No comment...
More birthday party pictures....

Louisville Zoo

We've been to the Louisville Zoo a couple times now, thanks to our annual membership.  This past time we finally saw the Polar Bear that everyone's been talking about.  We watched him for a little while.  He kept diving under the water to hide his stick in the rocks.  Guess he didn't want to share with his friends.
The lions are Annabelle's favorite exhibit.  If he didn't turn his head every few seconds I would swear he was fake.  He's in that same spot every time we go.
The penguin exhibit was finally open this last time too.  They were VERY entertaining to watch.  The marched, dived and even fought with each other.

Archorage Walking Trail

We took in some autumn sights on the local walking trail.  A nice 2 mile loop.  Jenn and I got some fresh air and wore out the kids.... a little.

Andrew found a little friend.... Mr. Caterpillar.

Huber's Farm

A few weeks back we ventured up to Huber's Farm.  It's this great little pumpkin patch/apple orchard/farm just across the border in Indiana.  The kids had a blast even though the petting zoo wasn't even open.
Annabelle is definitely my muse.  I could follow her around all day with a camera.  She is so photogenic.
Here's Annabelle and Clara riding their horses.  In a few years we can ride real horses, but for now we'll stick with the safe, still ones.
Annabelle found her pumpkin.  This is not a staged photo, we did purchase this one.
Here's the whole gang.  Jacob, Andrew, Clara, Annabelle and Patrick.  (Patrick looks like he's wiping Annabelle's tear - cute!)
Miss Annabelle - taste test.  Can't buy any bad apples.
If brother has a stick, I must have one too.
Such a good big brother!
