In early August the kids and I made the 9 hour journey from Louisville KY to Green Bay WI. Although a long car ride, we all handled it well. The kids watched some movies and took a couple naps. Other than a sore tushy I remained sane throughout the trip. Our kids travel very well, probably because they don't have a choice in the matter :)
We stopped off in Milwaukee for a pit stop at the Raisanen house. Andrew was very impressed with Nikolas' expansive collection of Legos. Needless to say we didn't see the boys much. Of course the room had one simple rule, "No Girls Allowed" (of course, Mommy is not a girl, so I could come in, but just to help clean up).
We spend 10 days in Green Bay and managed to keep ourselves busy.
Andrew enjoyed his "boy time" with Nikolas. They are pretty much inseparable.
Dave came up for the last day just in time to celebrate his birthday. The Wilsons picked out a lovely Spiderman cake for Daddy. We are now in our annual 7 week stretch where Dave and I are the same age. So no "old lady" or "cougar" jokes, David!
Check out the other posts for our activities while in GB.

Bay Beach
We made a trip to Bay Beach with the kids. We visited last summer, so Andrew knew exactly which rides he wanted to go on. The army planes and race cars have to be his favorite rides.
We even got Annabelle in a ride. Such a big girl. I waiting nervously for the ride to end. I thought for sure Annabelle would start crying, but of course, it helped to have her big brother holding her hand right beside her. She was even smiling and laughing by the end.
We finished up our trip with a ride on the train!

Childrens Museum
On one of our days we headed down to the Green Bay's Childrens' Museum. We were very impressed. We spent a lot of time at the Tailgating exhibit. Annabelle just loves to prepare and feed everyone.
Mr. Andrew is a cheesehead at heart!
We checked out story time...
and made fish windsocks with Grandma's assistance.
Andrew's favorite part of the museum, and of our whole trip to Green Bay, was the fire engine. He must have played on it for an hour.
Annabelle loved the diner and all the play food.
Look, I've already got my kids cooking for me!

Cabin
On what was the coldest day of the summer, at least our summer, we made the quick trip up to Grandpa's cabin to check out the work he's been doing on it. (I say Grandpa's, but I guess technically Grandma owns it too). It looks great! It has since had a deck added to it. We missed that by a couple of weeks.
The kids had fun checking everything out. Annabelle has on her cabin shoes, look closely :)
Andrew is looking for to spending some extended time up there. Hopefully on a slightly warmer day. 60 degrees is too cold for these Wilsons! burrr!

The Farm
We headed down to Mulberry Lane Farm with Aunt Ellen, Maya and Brynn. Of course, they should have just named it "The Cat Farm". That was all my kids were interested in. (In the above photo Ellen is doing her best to lift Annabelle to see out the hole and hold Brynn out the other one. We could have used one more set of hands to make the picture work :))
We were greeted by "Sis" when we arrived at the farm. She hung out with us while we ate lunch. Annabelle was ready to take her home with us until....
We met all of Sis' babies. Here's one little cute orange one :)
We saw lots of animals at the farm. Some ducklings (above), an baby horse and her mother, a huge pig, little pigs, a cow that Andrew was not interested in milking, but Maya did a great job at it. We also saw some goats and chickens and more that I am probably forgetting! Andrew was too hot to ride the horse, but Annabelle gave it a go and did not like it. Being that she's now from Kentucky we may need to work on that. Good thing we have ample opportunity down here.
We took a hay ride around the farm before our departure.
Oh yeah and another stop off at the kitty barn. We visited the kitty barn at least 3 times while we were there. I'm shocked we didn't go home with one (they were "for sale"). If that had happened, Daddy would never let us go to a farm again unsupervised.
